I never anticipated the standard hospital call that requested my presence at my father's side, as he has been diagnosed with stage IV lymphoma and presumably does not have much time left.
I caught the next flight out, and left my cat and plants to my neighbours.
Long story short, he is alive and going through his favourite kind of chemo, three months later. He is also fully supportive of what I do now.
There were two distinctive point-of-no-returns, they were the most crucial part of him getting out of it alive. Those were emotional and mental. The reason for the lymphoma was environmental, the glue used to make laminated floors in the office he worked at for three years.
I am in full recovery mode until October.
