Pack the clothes you intend to wear during the session if you needed to change. Jeans and other tight-fitting/movement restricting materials are not recommended. (This is the perfect time for your active wear.)
Bring a list of things you want to work on, also history of major mental/physical health events: injuries, surgeries, child birth, depression, etc. The treatment is holistic, which means everything is relevant.
Congrats on making the effort, you are very courageous :)
Please wear comfortable clothes. Usually, female clients prefer tights and male medium-lengths shorts. We have blankets and air conditioning. Feel free to bring clothes to change into. You will be fully-clothed throughout the session.
For sports-related treatments, nutrition will be an important part of the session. However, we are not a reseller. The goal is to help you shorten recovery time and lengthen training tolerance in the long run. Pain relief, range of movements, gains are all part of it, unless otherwise requested. We understand everyone is different, and every body has different needs.
During a session, you will either be standing up or lying down on a treatment table, depending on the location and severity of the issue. The therapist may touch different parts of your body with varying strengths and little to no movements. If you are not comfortable with this, please advise at the time of booking/before the session starts.
It's totally ok to fall asleep, most people do, but the therapist might need to wake you up to have some questions answered.
In the event paper stickers not wanting to stay on your skin, we might need to draw little points on your hands/arms/legs/feet, please advise if you do not want this. We will never draw on your clothes or face.
The short answer is... magic! The video is long, but explains somewhat. The body records everything you've ever been through, not just trauma though, or what we deem traumatic is different to every person/personality or body at different times. For example, we've all seen an upset child who just dropped their ice cream by accident. It's nothing much to an adult, but depending on the personality of the child, it could well be the equivalent of losing their family home to bushfires. And the child would carry that all the way through life if not resolved, and manifest into imbalances in their body. The body-mind connection is the key to release whatever events had transpired that had taught the body and mind to behave in a certain way. We work with this to undo the 'training', if you will, so that you could regain the freedom which will allow you to be someone different. And we follow TCM/acupuncture principals, which is yet another black box we can't ELI5.
Yes, but please advise at the time of booking, or at least right before the session starts. It would be an in-person remote session, which happens with kids who move around a lot, or those with disability.
No, you absolutely aren't. However, massage-like movements might be employed should the situation arises (which we had zero occurances so far). Most clients report massage-like effects after a session, such as relaxation, feeling happy, etc.
No, you are not.
Unless that's part of the issue.
We understand the body and treat sexual dysfunctions/infertility/gynocological issues all the time. However, we reserve the right to remove you from the premises, should we find your intent/behaviour questionable.
It's normally an hour and a half. Longer sessions can be arranged for an additional fee. (Among therapists, we often do swaps on each other for hours.) Please advise if you needed extra time at time of booking.
There are over 400 meridian points and numerous salt/protein/fat/acid that are needed in the body. This type of therapist isn't interested in remembering all of them (or attempts to, for that matter). It's in your best interest that they double check to ensure you receive the best treatments. It doesn't happen all the time, but if this bothers you, we can refer you to someone else.
Some clients only ever needed one session to be healed of their condition.
Some clients only makes appointments as needed.
For period pain, treatments are more effective prior to menstruation.
For athletes, more frequent sessions might be necessary depending on the intensity of training.
We recommend leaving at least two to three days in-between sessions so that your body can adjust to the change.
(We see someone once or twice a week for ourselves, partly to combat our own resistance to being healed. And we utilise the sessions to investigate many topics that are of interest: reverse ageing, upgrade general intelligence, super-human strength, etc.)
I have some certificates, here and there, nothing formal except for Certified Hypnotherapist. I decided I was done with formal training after getting a double degree from the University of Melbourne (Engineering/Commerce). My ability to study had been pretty well-established during those years, as well as working at various companies in IT, and it's time to utilise those skills by going into selected workshops/short courses and the ocean of books.
Of course. If you are not open to it, there is no point for us to use it. Although it is likely to be more effective when combined with other techniques. I had been trained and worked as an engineer, integration is what I do... As to why something works better than others, ask a scientist :) On a side note, you have likely been hypnotised many times up to this point in your life, you just aren't aware of it. It is about time we used it for good :)
Drink lots of water, take it easy and allow the space and time for you to integrate the changes.
Most people have some sort of 'aha moment' during the session, or intense emotional release, some notices the changes in the body straight away, or the pain goes away or lessen. After the session, some feel different interacting with the same 'difficult' people and situations, some might experience to be back 'in the flow' where things seem to fall into places naturally, and life becomes easier. And of course, there are those who don't notice anything themselves, but their coworkers and family typically comment on their changes over time.
I remember myself at the start, I never noticed anything after sessions but kept going due to curiosity. After many sessions, one day I went to my GP for a checkup, she immediately asked if I started a new romantic relationship. I was dumbfounded and said 'No?!', she explained that I seemed to be very happy and that is what she associates with new romance. I mentioned I was getting alternative treatments, she didn't think much of it, but she asked me again just before I was leaving her office.
'Are you sure you are not in love with someone?' she asked, 'Yes, I'm sure I'd know if that's the case.' I answered feeling ridiculous. I guess I fell very much in love with myself at that time, and hadn't stopped since.
It's not a magic cure, ultimately, it is up to you what you want to do with your time on this beautiful planet. Your commitment to getting better is the deciding factor; we are only facilitating. We are here to serve you, and that would come with its own reluctance and resistance sometimes. Part of our own healing involved learning to recognise our own reactivity to getting healthier, the patterns of self-sabotage, and persistently unblock them.
Yes. Almost anything can be done in person, can be done remotely. Physical touch in itself can be rather healing too, so there's a little bit of extra benefit of being in person.
It is on a case-by-case basis. If the client is mobility-challenged, we will consider coming on site, under the condition that the site can be set up properly to allow us to work safely.
